My suitcase...

So every trip comes with a suitcase... and mine was very different this time:::

That was the "take with you suitcase"... I was a bit afraid of someone asking me about all that yarn, it was over 7 lbs of wool yarn!!!!!!!!!!! delicious wool yarn for my wall hanging...

I think it's coming out great........

I am really loving it, and now that I'm here and everywhere I look is fall-y and autumn-y, this trees are the perfect mood match....

I can imagine, in a not very far future, nice hooking afternoons at home, with the heater on, with a cup of tea or hot chocolate, maybe a sweet treat and this nice wool over my lap.... mmmmh! nice! I want to do it now!!!

But no, it'll have to wait, right now I have to run, I want to go to the LYS as I bought a present for the owner... I brought her slipper soles from Mexico, so she can try them out and see if she wants them for her store, here's a pic...
 Allright... see you soon!!!

Back home...

Finally, after a very looong trip I got home with MG...
It took me a little bit more than 13 hours to make it from my parent's at Mexico City, to our little home at B-town... that being the waiting time before a plane, the flying time, the waiting time between flights, other flight, waiting time at the airport for the shuttle, shuttle time, and driving time back home... uuufff!!! tireing!!!!

MG went to "pick me up" to the airport... more wait for me, as he took the shuttle there and didn't drive...

The reunion was great!!! I was so happy and excited to see him... it was like we were dating again, you know those butterflies that you get in your stomack when your guy is coming to pick you up to take you out????? well, I had those for the whole second flight and the time that passed until I was with him!

Fortunately, I passed all the border procedures without any problems or questioning... yei!!!!

MG had take all the clutter out of the house (he's not very cluttery) and had a pile of presents with a note on top of the bed for me... so sweet!!!

Yesterday I went to the campus with him, I walked a bit while he was working... apparently I've missed the best stunnishing part of the autumn, but still I found this...

I love the color of the leaves, we don't have this kind of autumn in my home town, so this is still new to me (just my second year!!!)... and I discovered that you can smell the leaves, I think a fall scent... same as Christmas scent will come !

I'll share more things in the next days... have to do some errands!
See you soon!

Ready for the trip....

I won't post any pics today... it's late, I'm lazy and sleepy, had a very full of things weekend and last day for errands today...
Several goodbyes, tons of hughs and some tears (I'm a crying person)...
All ready and packed, a loooooot of yarn squezed into a suitcase, the size that you can carry-on on the airplane.

So everything is good now... I'm a bit sad of leaving my friends and my family without knowing when (or if) I'll see them again...

I really hope it'll be soon!

Anyway, this is what it is.... I'm very happy-super excited-heart skippy of being hours away of The Reunion with MG... I know he has missed me... I for sure have missed him a LOT, and we are less than a day apart... around 14 hours to see him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I lucky or what????

I'm off to bed! I have to be charged for tomorrow... hope the excitement will let me sleep!

See you soon!

PJ's

Hello!!!
I've always enjoyed a PJ's day... and each time more since I got married... I love to snuggle all day or watch TV in them, or sit to crochet in a fresh set of PJ's.

Now I'm more a PJ's person... I used to use some swetpants and a T-shirt and that was enough... then I started liking dark blue T-shirts to sleep, so I have a stash of them... LOL...

But lately I've been aquireing bottom parts... and here are some of them!
I bought those on a clothes sale that a friend of mine had at his house... I liked them for winter time! they are cotton light and I also bought a matching pair of boxers for MG... here's a close up of the fabric:::
Don't you love it???

Next set.......... A loooooooooong time ago, I had to use a Superhero costume (for a kids camp where I was a counsler) and I made pants and shirt out of a super-bright-fluorescent-yellow-lycra-fabric.... then, one day, I used the bottoms as PJ's and I felt in love... they were soft, fresh and doesn't warmed up, perfect for summer days... and from then on, I used to be really really happy with my yellow pants!
The picture above show you my yellow pants, not so yellow any more... they are really really old and the color have fainted...
I knew I had more of this super bright fabric on my upper closet, so now that I'm back at my parents for a while I took a trip to the end of that closet......... and.....

found the fabric........

and made......

new.....

super....

bright....

fluorescent....

yellow......

PJ..... Pants....

Ready???

it can be a bit shocking!

I was really impressed to see the change of color that my first pair has had over the years!!! but now I'm really happy again with my Yellow Pants!!! I love them! I can't say why! They just make me really happy....

And last but not least!! I made another pair, same pattern, different fabric, also lycra-ish...
Close up in the first picture....

OK, I have to go, just wanted to share my PJ-happiness...

I have some other things to show you... they'll have to wait...

See you soon!

WiP ::: Pumpkin Vest

The front part is ready!!!
Now I just need to knit the pack part... I am using a pattern of the book Knit One, Kill Two by Maggie Sefton... it's the first book of a Knitting Mysteries Serie.

I liked the book and I'm now on the second one, and she includes a couple of patterns and recipes at the end of the book.

See you soon!

Knit/Crochet = LOVE!!!

Every time I have a yarn in my hands, and sit down to work with it with my hook or needles, I can't help but thinking that I am knitting/crocheting an absolute pure kind of love.

I think you knit/crochet only because you like it and you love to do it... I'm pretty sure that there's people that do it because they need to do it, because that is their work and otherwise they wouldn't have food on their table... but I think that us, the lucky people that have access to internet and blogland, and many others, are lucky enough to do it just because we like it and love to do it... and even there is some lucky people that besides doing what they love, they can make money with it by selling their patterns or their finished products...

I am one of those lucky people that have the privilege of have time to seat down and relax in a very happy hooky time, without pressure, without a time line, without rush...

I don't like to crochet with rush... I am not a slow crocheter, but I like to be able to take my peace, to savor every stitch, to feel the fiber of the yarn in my left hand, to feel the movement of the hook on my right... to see how a fabric comes out of my hands and takes life to become some beautiful object full of love... Because every time I crochet, or knit, I feel like I'm weaving love, because every inch of the fiber and fabric has to be touched by my hands and it takes with it the happy part of me that makes me do it, and surprisingly it gives me back a lot more happiness and love than the one it takes from me.

So every time I hook on something, I feel I'm doing a work of love... a weaved fabric of love...

The same as working a new yarn from the big skein to balls or cakes, it's like praying, like repeating a mantra, like getting in love and peace...

See you soon lovely friends!!

Tree of Life Afghan

Hello!!!!

After taking some advise of the lovely members of We Love Lucy, at Raverly (Group inspired by Lucy at Attic24)... I looked for afghans with cables or texture, and I decide that I'll go for the Tree of Life Afghan, crocheted version, from a free pattern from Lion Brand (you can fin it here) to make with my new wool... I won't dye any of it for this project, maybe next time... and I'm not sure if it's gonna be enough, so I might have to ask my friend for more...

I don't know if I can post the picture of the pattern here, but you can check it on the link...

What I can do is show you what my progress is to this point... I started yesterday and I worked on it for a while in the afternoon while watching Season 6th of Grey's Anatomy with a friend... pretty perfect afternoon!!!
The new blanket is quite wide, wider than I thought it'd be, it's becoming heavy, the stitches are close and there's not holes between them.
I'm using a 6 mm (J) hook as the pattern asks for, but I think that my yarn is thicker than the one asked in the pattern, so the fabric is becoming more stiff... which I think is convenient as I think I'll want this as a wall hanging and not as a blanket...

As you can see, this yarn helps to have really defined stitches, which will be great for this pattern... I can't wait for the trees to start apearing... right now I have only the barks of them... and I like them a lot!
Hope I can complete it soon!

See you soon!
